Fay Crocker

Fay Crocker (2 August 1914, Montevideo, Uruguay -16 September 1983 ) was a Uruguayan golfer who was noted for being the first non- American to win a major professional golf tournaments, the US Open 1955. he later won the Titleholders Championship 1960; placed his two titles with the Lorena Ochoa as the most successful Latin American in major tournaments. He also finished second alone in the LPGA Championship 1958, and shared second place at the 1955 Western Open.

Crocker gained access to dispute the City of Montevideo Open 1938 in the category of gentlemen, and won the contest. After that, he competed in the US Open in 1939. During the 1940s and early 1950s , he competed sporadically in the United States, and reached the final of the Amateur Championship twice.


In 1954 , Crocker decided to become a professional golfer on the LPGA, the world's largest women's tour. Achievement 11 wins on tour, that leave tied for 40th on the career list and second in Latin America after Ochoa, and 21 second places. In 1955 he was third on the money list with three wins , and the Golf Writers Association of America named the Professional Player of the Year . In 1956 and 1957 he won two tournaments and finished fourth and second in the final classifier.
