Brothers Wright

The Wilbur and Orville Wright brothers were the first men to make a heavier -than-air powered device controllable and were sustained in flight.

The two brothers studied only high school but became engineers for their practical experience, natural instincts in handling machines and inventiveness. Both founded in 1892 the Wright Bicycle Company, a manufacturer and repairer of bicycles that gave them the financial ability to continue his experiments with flying machines that was his passion.

The experiments of the Wright brothers were ignored for years by the press, and therefore the public. The first cheers of his work were not found in the United States but in France after the first long flight. After that they had fame and financial success; in 1909 the US Army purchased its first airplane the Wright brothers.
