He began his career six years as an athlete and at 14 he represented Uruguay for the first time in international competition . In the South American U23 Championships 2010 won the silver medal in the 400m test female fences. In 2008 he had also participated in the South American Junior Championships and won a gold in the same specialty. In 2011 he participated in the South American Junior Championship, again in the 400 meters hurdles , and came back to win the gold medal . That same year he also competed in the Pan American Junior Championships and won the bronze medal . In addition to these medals was able to beat the record for his country in the specialty, with 58.63 the June 3, 2011 in Buenos Aires. In 2012 he qualified to participate in the London Olympics 2012 (being 19 years old the youngest ever to represent his country athlete) , but was eliminated in the first round at the 28th position, but again broke the national record with a time of 57.04 seconds.
